Virtual Image at Infinity
When an object is placed at the focus of the lens the image is formed at infinity.
Then, linear magnification PQ/h is infinite,
Example: A convex lens of focal length 10 cm is used as a magnification glass. Find the magnifying power when (i) the image is formed at infinity and (ii) the image is formed at the least distance of distinct vision (25 cm from the lens).
(i) When the image is formed at infinity
(ii) When the image is formed at the near point
M = 3.5
